Weight Loss Pills – Hoodia Gordonii and People’s Reaction

In 2002 and 2003, there were several weight loss stimulants like Ephedra. Then Hoodia Gordonii came to the US market and hit the time bomb there. Hoodia Gordonii, until now, actually can be considered as the most effective appettite suppressant and diet pill. Hoodia Gordonii itself is the name of a Kalahari’s plant in Africa.
The plant looks like a cactus and it works extremely fine for African people since hundreds of years ago ago.
Hoodia ever featured in many popular television shows due to its testimonials from many real customers. Sadly, Hoodia Gordonii needs around three until five months to grow so the supply is not high. The demand for Hoodia were so high, that’s the reason why many Hoodia retailers faked their own products. Ironically, people still believe in Hoodia Gordonii to suppress their appetite.
Now I don’t think you can easily find real Hoodia products. Even in some websites which claim they are the official Hoodia sellers, probably you will get scammed. As long as the demand is much higher than the supply, many people will fill different ingredients into their so-called Hoodia bottles.
Because of this, many people have been doubting Hoodia Gordonii (even though there are still plenty of them who want to try it). About real Hoodia itself, actually there are some side effects involved. You could trigger Hoodia’s side effects (headache, constipation, or urination problems) if you consume more than 150mg of Hoodia per day . Well, not so great, eh? Read my Hoodia review to know more about Hoodia Gordonii.
Ephedra Diet Pills

Obesity is a major health problem affecting people from all over the world. In recent years, more and more obese and overweight individuals are turning to diet pills for their weight loss needs. One of the most popular, and also most controversial, weight loss medications available in the market is ephedra.
Ephedra diet pills are actually nutritional supplements that can be acquired over-the-counter. These supplements contain extracts of the plant Ephedra sinica, or what is more commonly known as ma huang. This plant has been used for over 5,000 years in China. Traditional Chinese medicine containing ephedra have been used to treat different diseases, including hay fever and asthma. The use of ephedra-containing medications in weight loss has only been discovered recently. The active components of the ephedra plant are pseudoephedrine and ephedrine, which are responsible for the effects of the drug on the body.
Ephedra diet pills are sympathomimetics. These pills act as thermogenic stimulants. Ephedra pills stimulate the brain, releasing specific chemicals known as neurotransmitters, which help inhibit the individual’s appetite. On the other hand, the thermogenic property of the medication results in an increase in the individual’s metabolism, causing body heat to be increased and fat to be burned by the body. These properties of the drug are responsible for bringing about significant weight loss in those who use the drug. Aside from causing weight loss, these properties are also believed to help augment the performance of activities. For this reason, ephedra diet pills have also become very popular with athletes.
Ephedra diet pills are extremely effective for the short-term management of obesity. When used in a supervised atmosphere, it can result in weight loss of almost 1 kg more than placebo every month. Ephedra weight loss pills have been shown to produce even greater effects when combined with caffeine. Studies have shown that when taken for 6 months or less, ephedra diet pills combined with caffeine are able to produce statistically significant weight loss. However, the said combination has also been associated with an increased risk for a number of side effects, such as vomiting, nausea and mood changes.
The major reason why ephedra diet pills have become so controversial in recent years is because of the many possible side effects of the drug. These adverse effects range from mild reactions, such as headache, irritability, insomnia and skin changes, to severe life-threatening reactions, such as irregular heartbeat, hyperthermia and stroke. The severe reactions are actually very rare; in a review of more than 50 randomized controlled trials of ephedra diet pills, not one serious adverse reaction was reported.
Another reason why ephedra diet pills have become so controversial is because there is a lack in standardization of the medications. Since these diet pills are considered as weight loss supplements, some reports have criticized the quality control measures used by companies producing these supplements.
If you are planning to take ephedra weight loss pills, it is important to consult your physician to make sure that the drug is right for you.
What is Lipo 6 and is it effective for weight loss

Lipo 6 by Nutrex has been called the “most powerful fat-burning formula” that is available in maximum strength liquid capsules. In fact, it is the first and only fat burner designed in this way. Nutrex claims that Lipo 6 offers superior absorption and strong results, and as “hard evidence” Nutrex even has bodybuilder Troy Alves of the IFBB endorse the product. How does Lipo 6 work and what do actual consumers think of the product?
First know that there are two types of Lipo 6: first a diet pill made of ephedra and a non-ephedra pill; each of these contain six fat burning ingredients including Citrus Aurantium, Coleus Forskohlii, Bioperine, Yohimbine as well as ephedra and caffeine. ephedra, caffeine and aspirin can be combined as a formula to quickly eliminate excess weight. It should be noted that Lipo 6 (though not approved by the Food And Drug Administration) does not contain aspirin, which is a good thing since aspirin could be a health complication for some people. On the plus list, it is a 100% natural stimulant and allegedly does not have any side effects. This stimulant affects the central nervous system and is similar to other prescription drug stimulants. Though Lipo 6 is considered an herbal supplement users are advised to be aware of the risk, as there has been far and between deaths reported in association with Lipo 6 containing ephedra. Not only has Lipo 6 been used as a weight loss pill and an energy booster, it has also been used as effective treatment for attention deficit disorder. The non-ephedra Lipo 6 formula is not significantly different from the first, except that it may contain Carnitrex or Guggulsterones. The biggest problem the FDA has with Lipo 6 is the Yohimbe ingredient, which has reportedly (but still unsubstantiated) led to serious adverse side effects.
Lipo 6 has proven most effective for females and it was originally manufactured for women. Target areas identified with Lipo 6 include fat around the thighs and stomach, though men have also used the product to tone and develop muscle tissue. (Getting rid of those love handles!) How does Lipo 6 rate with its buyers? Reviews have been mixed: some have reported losing up to 30 pounds after five months, though others claim that non-ephedra fat burners are not as effective as the conventional “ECA” (ephedra/Caffeine/Aspirin) stack. Though being far from unanimously recommended, Lipo 6 does have its share of success stories.
